1. La Tomatina
Get messy and have some fun by partaking in the La Tomatina, known in English as the Valencia Tomato Fight Festival. Duringthe event, around 30,000 people throw over 240,000 pounds of tomatoes at each other. Definitely fun and messy!
2. San Sebastian
If you are planning to visit Hotels in Spain in January, be sure to join the San Sebastian festival in Basque Country. Listen to the rhythmic beat of drums as hundreds of groups of drummers parade through the city streets. In the morning, you can watch the Tamborrada Infantil where young kids beat on their percussion instruments.
3. Fallas de San Jose
The Fallas de San Jose event dates from the Middle Ages. It is a festival of culture which includes a night time parade, a procession that goes through the old towns of Valencia, flower offerings to the Nuestra Senora de los Desamparados, and the burning of grotesque cardboard figures during the Nit del Foc. People celebrate the Fallas de San Jose every March.
4. Feria de Abril
The Feria de Abril festival is celebrated right after Holy Week in Andalucia.During the event, you can see multicolored tents, wreathes, and paper lanterns that adorn structures andhouses. Check out the performance of cantaores, or flamenco singers, and bailaoras, or dancers.
5. Fiestas Patronales de la Virgen de Gracia
If you are in Albacete on September, join the the Fiestas Caudete, which honors the La Virgen de Gracia. The event features magnificent fireworks displays, processions, flower offerings, and concerts. If you love sights and sounds, join in this fiesta
